Who I am

I was born in Los Angeles (where I now live), grew up in Miami, and did eight years in Brooklyn.

I graduated from Northwestern University with a double major in journalism and sociology.

Before working my way up to entertainment editor at Esquire and then running the entertainment desk at Business Insider, I was an intern at a whole bunch of places, including New York magazine, (the old, delightful) Radar magazine, and The Chicago Reader.

In my writing about pop culture, I've interviewed everyone from Stephen Colbert and Amy Sedaris to Mick Jagger and Sharon Stone.

I love B-movies, aging pop stars, and lamb in any form.
